Freelance web developer without the agency layer

You work directly with a freelance senior web developer and the team. We explain technical choices, write the code ourselves and stay available after launch, whether you need a complete site or help with one clearly defined technical problem.

4.9/5 on Google26 reviews

No rotating team. Just one senior developer who knows your codebase and context.

That speeds up decisions, prevents information from being lost in handovers and keeps responsibility clear as your website grows.

How we can help as freelance web developers

We can handle a complete project or one technical bottleneck, with a defined scope and proper testing.

New websites and frontends

Astro and other modern stacks for fast marketing websites, case studies, knowledge bases and custom frontends.

Integrations and functionality

Forms, APIs, CMSs, and business logic with validation, logging, and clear error handling.

Audit, repair and maintenance

We review existing code, fix root causes and test targeted improvements without unnecessary rebuilds.

Web development from technical brief to handoff

We define the scope, build with your feedback, and hand over working code. Seppe is your main contact, with focused support from the team.

Define your technical brief

Hiring a freelance web developer starts with deciding what needs to work. Do you need a new website, a form that forwards inquiries, or a repair to an existing feature? We review your current site, the desired outcome, and the people who use it. Then we describe what we will deliver and how you can check that the assignment is complete.

You do not need a technical specification to start. An example, design, or explanation of the problem gives us something concrete to discuss. We flag missing information and dependencies, such as CMS access or feedback from your designer. Additional requests are discussed separately so the original assignment does not keep expanding unnoticed.

Build websites and integrations

We build fast marketing websites, knowledge bases, and custom frontends, with Astro and TypeScript as our current focus. The technology follows the needs of your site: how often does content change, who publishes it, and which systems supply data? A simple website does not need to become a complicated application. We can connect a headless CMS when editors need to manage content.

For web development and integrations, we look beyond a successful demonstration. An inquiry also needs proper handling when information is missing or an external service stops responding. We test both the normal path and error cases. Shared previews let you review the features using examples from your own work.

Make your site easier to use

A menu that only works with a mouse excludes visitors. We include accessibility in development and check whether people can complete important tasks with a keyboard. Can you see where you are, close a dialog, and finish a form without getting stuck? We use a screen reader to check that headings, links, and input fields have understandable names.

Alongside responsive web design, this requires attention to the order and behavior of page elements. We use standard browser features where they work and discuss design exceptions before building them. An automated test helps find errors but does not replace manual checks. At handoff, we document what we tested and which limitations still need attention.

Work alongside your team

You talk with Seppe about the content and technical choices without explaining your question to a new contact each time. We agree on who collects feedback, who makes decisions, and when you can review a working version. That works for an independent business owner in Belgium or the Netherlands, as well as an internal marketing team or an outside designer.

When we join your development team, we follow the agreed process for code, reviews, and releases. Before taking on existing code, we inspect its tests, security, and publishing procedure. We explain which problems affect the assignment and which sit outside it before accepting responsibility for the next stage.

Handoff and further development

At delivery, you should know how the website is published and who manages each account. We document the main technical choices, integrations, and recurring maintenance tasks. Using your own examples, we check whether forms, content changes, and mobile pages work as agreed. That gives you specific grounds for approval rather than relying on an attractive opening screen.

We walk you through the content you can change yourself. Some technical changes still need a developer, and we make that distinction explicit. We agree on website maintenance and further development separately. If someone else takes over later, they should be able to understand how the site works.

When a freelance developer fits

A freelance web developer is a good fit when you want direct contact with the person doing the work and clear ownership. That might mean a complete website project or temporary support for one technical problem. You need someone who can explain choices and deliver code without assembling a large agency team for every decision.

We only accept assignments that fit our expertise and availability. For a large platform involving several disciplines at once, we discuss the extra expertise needed and agree on responsibilities before starting. If your technical foundation already works and you mainly need a new visual direction, a freelance web designer may be a better fit.
