Headless rental, built for speed
Verhuurwinkel.nl is a headless e-commerce platform: Astro serves static HTML via the Vercel CDN, a custom localStorage store manager handles cart and checkout, and API integrations connect a headless ERP system and headless CMS (Storyblok), each directly to the frontend.
4.9/5 on Google26 reviewsMany products, many search intents, no second to waste
At Verhuurwinkel.nl, visitors can arrange a silent disco rental, projector rental or karaoke set rental. They can also rent cleaning equipment, party decorations and event equipment. That breadth is commercially valuable, but it sets hard requirements: every category and every product page must answer the visitor’s question right away.
In e-commerce, load time is a conversion factor, not a detail. Research on loading behavior consistently shows that visitors drop off as a page takes longer to appear — hence the Core Web Vitals target of a Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5 seconds. A rental store that loads slowly loses its best visitors before they ever see a product.
That made the assignment twofold: a fully custom store that loads lightning-fast, with content and availability that keep growing along with the business.
“A rental store doesn’t win with more features. It wins with products that are found instantly, on a page that loads instantly.”
Headless e-commerce, built on static speed
Technology helps people choose. It doesn’t try to take center stage.
- 01
Static where possible
Astro renders most of the store as static HTML, served via the Vercel CDN. No heavy client-side shop that has to be rebuilt on every visit.
- 02
Custom store manager
A custom-built localStorage store manager keeps the cart and the checkout details locally in the browser, without shipping a heavy shop framework.
- 03
Headless through APIs
Several API integrations connect the client's ERP system — kept anonymous on purpose — and Storyblok, each directly to the frontend: a headless ERP and a headless CMS for all content.

SEO grows with AI
After launch I started AI-driven SEO with my Hermes agent and skills: from just over thirty organic clicks per day to almost ninety in June, with a logical holiday dip in July and August.
Custom down to search
Fully custom-built, including a specially configured Meilisearch index: type something wrong and you still find the right rental product.
Measurements are the next layer
